What is WiFi 7

Wi-Fi 7, also known as 802.11be, is the upcoming WiFi standard and is likely to bring significant improvements in terms of speed, capacity, and efficiency. WiFi 7 introduces 320 MHz ultra-wide bandwidth, 4096-QAM, Multi-RU, and Multi-Link Operation to provide speeds 4.8× faster than WiFi 6 and 13× faster than WiFi 5. Unlock more scenarios than ever before.

Here are some of the anticipated features of Wi-Fi 7 as below:

Faster speeds: Wi-Fi 7 is expected to support multi-gigabit data rates, possibly reaching up to 30

Gbps. This enhanced speed would be beneficial for handling the ever-increasing demand for high-bandwidth applications and services.

Increased capacity: The new technology aims to improve network capacity by allowing more devices to connect simultaneously without a significant drop in performance. This will be particularly crucial in environments with dense device deployments like stadiums, airports, and public venues.

Improved range: Wi-Fi 7 is likely to offer better range and coverage, making it more reliable in larger areas and reducing dead spots.

Enhanced efficiency: The new generation of Wi-Fi is expected to introduce more advanced technologies for handling data packets, reducing latency, and optimizing power consumption for connected devices.

Backward compatibility: Like previous Wi-Fi generations, Wi-Fi 7 is expected to be backward compatible with older devices using older Wi-Fi standards, ensuring smooth integration with existing networks.
